NOW HIRING

Graphic Designer & Production Coordinator

About the Butterfly Art Collective

The Butterfly Art Collective is an emerging arts organization founded on the belief that creativity can catalyze change. Through large-scale public art, community partnerships, and philanthropic collaboration, we transform stories of loss and resilience into symbols of hope. Our flagship initiative, the Resilience campaign features a collection of resin butterfly sculptures that honor communities impacted by gun violence.

This is a rare opportunity to join a purpose-driven creative team at the intersection of fine art, social impact, and design innovation. The Graphic Designer & Production Coordinator will play a key role in shaping how our mission is communicated and experienced across digital, physical, and public spaces.

Overview

The Graphic Designer & Production Coordinator supports the Art Director and serves as an intermediary liaison between the creative and communications teams. This multifaceted role combines design, production, and operational management — ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative studio environment and takes initiative to bring ideas from concept to completion.

This is an in-studio role based in Phoenix, AZ, working closely with a small creative team in a dynamic, hands-on environment where every day looks a little different.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Art Director to design marketing and brand assets including collateral, packaging, signage, event materials, and email campaigns.

  • Develop and refine promotional products such as coloring books, journals, apparel, bookmarks, and other branded merchandise that extend the reach of our art.

  • Maintain and update website content, including campaign pages and online shop listings.

  • Prepare and format creative files for print and digital production; source and coordinate with vendors for printing, packaging, and product manufacturing.

  • Maintain and update brand style guides, design systems, and production summaries for butterfly fabrication to ensure consistency across campaigns and materials.

  • Manage internal organization systems (Airtable, Trello, etc.) and help streamline workflows for the creative and production teams.

  • Track and maintain inventory of art, products, and packaging materials; assist with order fulfillment and shipping as needed.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and implement new tools or automations that support both design and operational needs.

Ideal Candidate

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in graphic design, marketing, or operations support.

  • Strong eye for design with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and web platforms (Squarespace, Shopify, or equivalent).

  • Tech-savvy and eager to learn new platforms and software quickly.

  • Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Proactive and self-motivated — comfortable taking ownership of tasks and moving projects forward independently.

  • Comfortable working in both creative and logistical spaces, moving seamlessly from concept to implementation.

  • Passionate about purpose-driven art, storytelling, and the Butterfly Art Collective’s mission.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience

  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision

  • Opportunity to make meaningful impact on gun violence prevention advocacy
