Education

SANDY HOOK PROMISE

We are dedicated to empowering the next generation with a campaign that transcends art. Beyond the passive clicks of social media and well before they reach voting age, we are teaching children they possess meaningful agency now. By fostering civic literacy today, we are cultivating the active citizens and leaders of tomorrow. Rather than waiting until they turn 18, we are nurturing young minds to understand their power to create change in the present moment. When students experience the impact of their voices on issues like school safety, they develop the confidence, critical thinking skills, and commitment to remain civically engaged throughout their lives.

Advocacy

GIFFORDS

The Butterfly Art Collective recognizes that lasting and meaningful change requires both grassroots programs and policy momentum. While our educational nonprofit partnerships cultivate community engagement, our alliance with Giffords.org champions evidence-based policies to safeguard those communities from gun violence.

Founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who survived a 2011 assassination attempt while meeting with constituents, Giffords.org works at federal, state, and local levels to advance policies to save lives. Their approach brings together diverse voices—including gun owners, veterans, law enforcement, and community leaders—to shift conversation from divisiveness to collaborative problem-solving. They advocate for solutions that respect Second Amendment rights while prioritizing community safety.

While our educational initiatives build knowledge and our advocacy partnerships push for policy reform, we understand that lasting change relies on grassroots mobilization. When communities unite behind a common cause, lawmakers respond to this collective voice, transforming public sentiment into meaningful policy action.

Grassroots Collaboration

The Butterfly Art Collective believes that transformation emerges through active community participation. We partner with local grassroots organizations that employ person-to-person outreach strategies to address gun safety in their communities.

Our grassroots partners conduct door-to-door outreach, host community conversations, and organize neighborhood gatherings where concerned citizens discuss practical safety measures in a non-polarizing, non-partisan environment. These conversations focus on finding common ground among diverse perspectives, acknowledging that community safety is a shared value regardless of political affiliation.
